Verónica G. Bado García
Undergraduate Biology Student
Welcome to my personal website!
My name is Verónica G. Bado García. I am an undergraduate student at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez where I am currently in my third year of a bachelor’s degree in Biology. Besides my bachelor’s degree, I am also completing a minor in “Writing and Communications” from the English department. Additionally, I am also conducting an investigation in Herpetology, where I am trying to find the presence of the most fatal, viral disease in snakes known as Inclusion Body Disease.
During this oncoming semester, I will be conducting a COOP Practice in the area of Orthopedics. Since my professional goal is to become a future doctor, I believe the experience and skills I will learn throughout this COOP Practice will be beneficiary for my future medical career. The ability to provide the best care possible for patients, by being a future doctor that performs research, is the main reason why I decided to pursue a degree in Biology. Ultimately, I aspire to equip myself with the necessary experience to contribute as a future medical professional; thus, I would like to study medicine because of my interest in various biological fields and my belief in helping others.
I was born and raised in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico where I studied at Southwestern Educational Society (SESO) during all of my forming schooling. Furthermore, my most treasured hobby is reading. I enjoy reading novels of every genre and have even set goals for myself every year. While I am passionate about biology and becoming a future doctor, I also have an innate love and appreciation for literature.
